A WILLIAM AND MARY MARQUETRY AND BURR WALNUT CHEST ON STAND having panelled floral inlays to the top and drawer fronts, the moulded edge top above two short and four long graduated drawers fitted with gilt brass pear drop handles; standing on barley twist short legs joined by an under stretcher
100cm wide 63cm deep 122cm high
This is a very good original piece, having oak draw linings. There is no woodworm, the barley twist base is original and there is are no splits to the side or tops. The marquetry is all original. The polish has been cleaned and re-waxed. There are some small repairs and replacements to the cross banding. The handles look to be original. Also, the draws run smoothly. There are no keys for the locks.
