MILES WEDRED (WETHERHEAD), KIRKBY LONSDALE  A fine mid 18th Century dense figured Cuban Mahogany eight day LONGCASE CLOCK the cabinet work undoubtedly by Gillows of Lancaster the 12” arched brass and silvered dial with engraved star-spangled revolving moon phases above a Roman chapter ring with Arabic minute markings enclosing a partly matted centre dial with florally cut engraved date aperture, ringed winding holes and seconds dial above marked Tempus Fugit; the eight day double lead weight driven movement with finely turned and finned baluster pillars, smooth barrels and hourly rack strike on a large bell.
