GEORGE CLARKE, LONDON. A MID 18TH CENTURY LACQUERED INVERTED BELL TOP VERGE EIGHT-DAY BRACKET CLOCK the 7.5" arched brass dial with mask head spandrels and silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and outer minute markers enclosing a matted dial centre with date aperture, mock pendulum and shaped name plaque below a strike/silent to the arch. Fronting an eight day fussee movement with finely engraved back plate, verge escapement and pull quarter repeat on six bells, striking the hours on a single bell. The inverted bell top case with brass carrying handle and plinth base, painted in blue and gold.
