the brass-bound three-tier mahogany case enclosing a gimballed brass bowl with a 3" silvered engraved dial having Roman and Arabic numerals, blued hands and subsidiary seconds dial fronting a signed chain driven fusee movement with five-spoke wheelwork and Harrison maintaining power, bi-metallic compensated balance wheel with diamond end stop, blued hairspring, and Earnshaw detent escapement, the movement enclosed with an inner bayonet fitted cover with leaf-sprung base
