A LATE 17TH CENTURY EBONISED 10” EIGHT DAY LONGCASE CLOCK SIGNED NATHANIEL HODGES, LONDINI, having a rising hood with barley twist columns on a slender trunk with panelled door and box base raised on bun feet. The 10" square gilded brass dial with wheatear engraved border, pierced gilt cast spandrels and slender silvered Roman chapter ring surrounding a matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture fronting a latched eight-day weight driven movement with six finned knopped pillars and outside countwheel striking the hours on a domed steel bell.
