A GEORGE III EBONISED QUARTER CHIMING VERGE BRACKET CLOCK in an ebonised bell top case with gilt-brass carrying handle, moulded cornice and base, and pierced gilt sound frets to the sides and door, enclosing a 7" white enamel dial with Roman numerals, Arabic five-minute track and blued steel hands signed John Devis London; fronting an 8-day triple fusee movement with verge escapement, chiming the quarters on eight bells and striking the hour on a larger bell, the shaped backplate signed and scroll engraved.
