AN EARLY 18TH CENTURY EIGHT-DAY FIGURED WALNUT LONGCASE CLOCK, having a caddy top above a pierced sound fret and glazed dial aperture flanked by turned columns on a slender trunk with D-moulded door, and plinth base raised on bun feet. The 12" square brass dial with gilt pierced cherub head spandrels and silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals surrounding a matted engraved centre with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture fronting a five-pillar weight-driven movement with anchor escapement and inner countwheel striking the hours on a bell - brass cased weights and brass bob pendulum.
