JOHN HARRIS, LONDON. A CHARLES II BRASS STRIKING LANTERN CLOCK WITH BALANCE WHEEL VERGE ESCAPEMENT the brass posted frame with turned finials and ball feet, domed bell under a strapped bell-stand and a pierced foliate front fret signed John Harris at Holborne Bridge Londini fecit; enclosing a 6 1/4" narrow chapter ring to a tulip-engraved dial with Roman numerals; fronting a two-train weight-driven movement with balance wheel verge escapement and an alarm train to the backplate striking the hours on the bell.
6 1/4in diameter narrow chapter ring
All very nice and original, side doors are later, and the escapement has probably been reconverted. Everything else looks original. In good working order but may need a service.
