A PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY SIDE CABINETS ATTRIBUTED TO PAUL SORMANI each cabinet of breakfront rectangular form surmounted by a stepped white marble top with shaped corners above a frieze inlaid with scrolling strapwork and applied with gilt rosettes. The central door features a prominent gilt urn issuing foliate sprays, framed by triple-moulded borders and flanked by parquetry panels inlaid with diamond trelliswork and gilt floral garlands. The corners are mounted with classical female herm figures above fluted uprights with further gilt embellishments; raised on tapering square-section feet with foliate cast sabots, the sides with line inlay and gilt masks, the interiors fitted with adjustable shelves.
