A LARGE LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH OVAL CASED FULLY ENGRAVED GRAND SONNERIE CARRIAGE CLOCK WITH CALENDAR WORK having a gilt brass moulded case inset with bowed bevelled glass panels enclosing a gilt engine-turned masked porcelain dial with Roman numerals above three porcelain subsidiary dials for days, date and alarm fronting an eight-day repeating movement with original compensated lever escapement and alarm striking/repeating the hours and quarters on two steel gongs - chime adjust lever underneath.
