A MID 19TH CENTURY FRENCH ENGRAVED BRASS STRIKING CARRIAGE CLOCK SIGNED MARCHAND PARIS the leaf engraved one-piece case with folding handle enclosing a signed white enamel Roman dial, fronting an eight-day spring-driven hour/half-hour striking movement on a bell, with 'Jules' type platform escapement and stamped backplate.

The clock is ticking on its original escapement and striking the correct hours, but it may require a service. The case has lost some of the gilding, but it is otherwise in good condition with no damage to the glass panels. The dial has two hairline cracks to the top left-hand corner and a tiny shelled chip to the bottom edge. There is also a very small hairline in the top right corner.
