JAMES CONDLIFF A SUPERB FIDDLE BACK AND FIGURED MAHOGANY GOTHIC REGULATOR LONGCASE CLOCK IN THE MANNER OF THOMAS HOPE the unusual case with turreted pediment and finely engraved silvered brass plaque depicting "Old Father Time" above a glazed lancet-shaped door on a box base supported on winged lion's paw feet. The 12" silvered engraved dial signed Henry Foster, Liverpool having an observatory layout with outer minutes, subsidiary seconds and 24-hour dials fronting a superb heavy plated high-quality eight-day shuttered movement with six-spoke wheel work, jewelled pallets, the dead-beat escapement and Harrison's maintaining power, adjustable end stops and mercury pendulum, the rectangular weight with fitted pulley running down an enclosed partition with a hinged door to the case interior
