WILLIAM BARKER, WIGAN. A GEORGE III FIGURED MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK the hood with swan neck pediment above a glazed door flanked by brass-capped reeded Corinthian columns, the matching trunk and box base with raised shaped panel, the 13" arched brass dial with gilt spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a cross-engraved matted centre with concentric calendar and subsidiary seconds, the arch with rotating moon-phase, the eight-day weight-driven movement with anchor escapement striking on a bell.

The case is in good unrestored condition having a nice colour and patination, there is a brass moulding missing from the quarter column, the door and base panel are nice and flat. The pierced metal panels in the swan neck pediment are later. The movement looks original to case and sits nicely on the cheeks, the movement is orignal to dial and is complete and running but may need a service. Comes with weights and pendulum.
