AN EARLY 18TH CENTURY BURR ELM AND OAK LONGCASE the case of small proportions with a caddy top surmounted by three brass ball finials above a glazed hood door flanked by turned columns on a slender trunk and box base, enclosing an 11 inch square brass dial with gilt mask spandrels and Roman chapter ring around a matted engraved centre with alarm disc and original steel hand, fronting a 30 hour weight driven movement with elongated plates for the alarm train striking on a bell.
