WILLIAM WRIGHT, LONDON, AN EARLY 18TH CENTURY JAPANNED LONGCASE CLOCK the 12" arched brass dial with silvered Roman chapter ring and fleur-de-lys half-hour markers, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, the matted centre within cast gilt spandrels and beneath a moonphase to the arch, the eight-day movement striking on a bell with anchor escapement with six pillars and fully latched in dial feet. The chinoiserie-decorated case in black and gilt, with figures, pavilions, and foliate motifs; the trunk door centred by a circular lenticle and painted landscapes; raised on a panelled base.
