JOSEPH KNIBB, LONDINI FECIT. A VERY RARE THREE-MONTH DURATION WALNUT MARQUETRY LONGCASE CLOCK the slender burr walnut case having a rising hood with shallow caddy top above ebonised barley twist columns, the trunk having convex mouldings and long D-moulded trunk door with floral inlaid ebony panels on a matching box base raised on ebonised bun feet. The 10" square brass dial with signed wheatear engraved border, gilt cherub head spandrels and silvered Roman chapter ring surrounding a finely matted centre with blued steel pierced hands fronting a fully latched six pillar weight driven movement with shaped arched plates and anchor escapement, Roman striking on two bells. Original brass cased weights and pendulum.
