A 19TH CENTURY GERMAN TWO-DAY MARINE CHRONOMETER, the brass gimbaled drum-shaped case enclosing a 4" silvered engraved dial with subsidiary seconds and power reserve. The chain-driven fusee movement, with Harrison maintaining power and an Earnshaw-type detent escapement, all fitted in a three-tier brass-bound mahogany case with a tipsy winding key and outer box. Service label to the inner lid from Wempe dated February 1939.
