A LATE 19TH CENTURY MARINE CHRONOMETER the brass gimballed drum-shaped case enclosing a 4" silvered engraved dial with blued steel hands, subsidiary seconds dial and power reserve. The high-quality chain-driven two-day fusee movement, with Harrison maintaining power and a bimetallic weighted balance wheel with detent escapement, all fitted within the original brass-bound, three-tier mahogany case.
