A RARE GEORGE III FIGURED MAHOGANY SPHERICAL MOON LONGCASE CLOCK having a swan-neck pediment with eglomise panels above reeded columns and a glazed arched door, the trunk with reeded columns and a canted panelled base, the 14" arched brass dial with gilt spandrels and silvered chapter ring with concentric calendar, Roman hours and Arabic minute track surrounding a scroll-engraved centre with subsidiary moon age dial and centre seconds, the arch having a painted country scene centre and rotating spinning moon aperture fronting an eight-day weight-driven movement with various gears driving the dials and moonwork, striking the hours on a bell.
