R.N.U. PICKERING, LONDON. A RARE MAHOGANY SKELETON REGULATOR LONGCASE CLOCK the mahogany case with long arched glazed moulded door and glazed sides on a box base with a recessed panel, the finely pierced silvered chapter ring with applied brass Roman numerals fronting a gilt pierced plate mounted with fine six-spoke wheel work, jewelled pallets to the deadbeat escapement and jewelled end stops, Harrison maintaining power to the weight driven going barrel, the movement mounted to the backboard with massive turned pillars attached to a pierced gilt brass plate inscribed, "MADE BY R.N.U. PICKERING, LONDON, 1912", finely pierced gilt brass weight and gilt brass and steel pendulum with fluted glass mercury jar. - The clock comes with paperwork and an original letter written by Mr Pickering. The design and workmanship is held in such high esteem that an identical clock by Pickering is part of the British Horological Institutes permanent collection.
