PAUL GARNIER, PARIS. A 19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT ENGRAVED STRIKING CARRIAGE CLOCK, the finely engraved gilt brass case has canted corners with glazed panels and a shuttered back door enclosing a signed enamel dial with Roman numerals fronting a signed eight-day spring driven movement with the original jewelled compensated lever escapement striking the hours/half hours on a bell. - comes with a service receipt and keys. Serial number 2904
15.5cm high handle up.
The clock is in good condition, the case retains its orignal gilding and all the glass panels are in undamaged condition. The dial has a tiny chip in the top right corner which is only visible if you tip the clock upside down, no hairline cracks, the movement is ticking on the original escapement and striking the correct hours on the original bell. Comes with winding key and hand adjustment key, also a service receipt dated 2015, and an insurance valuation of £3000.
