A GEORGE III FIGURED MAHOGANY VERGE BRACKET CLOCK WITH MOONPHASE the bell top case with brass carrying handle and four pineapple finials, glazed side panels and plinth base enclosing a 7" arched brass dial with matted centre, silvered Roman chapter ring and gilt spandrels, strike/silent lever to the side and moonphase in the arch, fronting an eight day double fusee movement with verge escapement and foliate engraved backplate striking on a bell.

The case is original to the movement and dial. The movement is complete and in working condition, striking the correct hours, but may require service. The case is in need of restoration; there are hairline splits in the veneer, the sides are missing sound frets and have been replaced with glass panels, the front door needs repolishing and is also missing its sound frets, and the mask behind the door has a small piece of veneer missing and some shrinkage cracks. The dial is in very nice condition with original hands. Moonwork and calendar work function correctly.
