PHILIP ABBOT, LONDON. A RARE EARLY 18TH CENTURY EBONISED EIGHT-DAY AUTOMATON LONGCASE CLOCK MADE FOR EDWARD WYBURD the 12" arched brass dial with wheatear border and mask head spandrels, silvered Roman chapter ring and matted centre fitted seconds dials and date aperature, below a cast brass figure of Britannia striking the half hours and engraved name plaques either side for "Edward Wuburd Proprietor" and "Philip Abbot London" with wheatear border. Fronting an eight-day weight-driven five-pillar movement with anchor escapement and inner count strike. Striking the hours on a large bell and half hours on a smaller bell. The caddy top arched hood with sound frets and panelled case raised on a double plinth base.
