JONAS BARBER, WINSTER. A LATE GEORGE III OAK AND MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK, the Gillows type case having a swan neck pediment above a glazed door on slender trunk with arched top door and mahogany quarter columns enclosing a 12" painted dial with floral spandrels and Roman numerals surrounding a painted bird centre, the arch with unusual painted street scene depicting a hat maker selling to customers. The weight-driven 30-hour movement has two latched pillars and an outside countwheel striking the hours on a bell. Number 1342, circa 1793.
