A MID 17TH CENTURY GERMAN GILT BRASS VERGE TOWER CLOCK having an engraved architectural case with pierced gallery, domed cupola and finial, raised on a stepped base with bun feet, enclosing an engraved circular dial with Arabic numerals and steel hands, fronting a spring-driven two-train movement striking on a bell.

The back panel of the case has a dent around the winding hole, and one of the finials is slightly bent; otherwise, it is in good condition with its original hand. When the going train is wound, the hand just spins, as the verge escapement isn't working correctly and the striking train spring is slipping, so it cannot be wound. The movement will require attention, but it does look complete.
