A GENTLEMAN'S STAINLESS STEEL TOUCHON (SWISS) WRISTWATCH WITH POCKET WATCH MOVEMENT

A GENTLEMAN'S STAINLESS STEEL TOUCHON (SWISS) WRISTWATCH WITH POCKET WATCH MOVEMENT the pocket watch movement is made by Touchon & Co which has been professionally cased in stainless steel, sapphire crystal front and back, case size approximately 43mm (not including winding crown) and 12mm thick. The movement is fully jewelled, polished nickel plates, base steel with engine-turned damaskeening, gold gilt gear train, jewelled moustache-type lever, blued steel Breguet over-coil hairspring, bi-metallic balance with gold screws, bridges bevelled and polished, jewelled to the centre, fine micro-regulator, movement further adjustable to 8 positions for high accuracy. Silver dial with Arabic type numerals in stainless steel, seconds sub dial at 6 O'clock with black markers, black steel hands. The movement is signed 'Touchon & Co Swiss' 'Eight 8 Adjustments' 'Nineteen 19 Jewels 46450 Extra', the dial is signed 'Touchon & Co'. The tang buckle is in stainless steel with green fabric woven and stitched watch strap, the watch is in good condition and working order and comes with a wooden watch box.

Touchon & Co were a premium pocket watch maker of very high quality, they were established in the early 1900's in Switzerland and were in business production for around 14 years, so are rather rare, they used to feature as 'high-end' timepieces in the Longines pocket watch brochures on the last pages, their watches were cased only in gold/platinum/precious metals, some with jewels.
