SAMUEL TOULMIN, LONDON. A SMALL GEORGE III ENAMEL DIAL VERGE STRIKING BRACKET CLOCK figured mahogany arched-top case with brass carrying handle, canted angles and brass mounts on bracket feet enclosing a 6" arched white enamel dial signed Toulmin Strand with Roman numerals and subsidiary Strike/Silent in the arch, fronting a five pillar eight day double fusee movement with verge escapement and foliate engraved backplate striking on a bell.
33 cm high not including handle
The case has been repolished, and there are patches in the veneer on the front door and sides, as well as some fine splits on the top of the case. The dial has been professionally restored; the movement is original to the case and in working condition, striking the correct hours.
