A GEORGE III OAK AND MAHOGANY AXE-MOON EIGHT DAY LONGCASE CLOCK the swan-neck pedimented hood fitted an eglomise panel above a hinged door flanked by reeded columns on a slender trunk with matching quarter columns on a box base with canted corners and raised panel; on ogee bracket feet. The 13" square brass dial with gilt rococo style spandrels and silvered chapter ring enclosing a silvered engraved centre with revolving moonphase and calendar aperture fronting an eight-day weight driven movement with anchor escapement and bell strike
