The case has been over-polished in previous years, but is showing a nice figured timber and would benefit from being stripped back to reveal the figuring. The joint on the front door is loose. One of the finials is loose and needs regluing. There is a minor loss to the moulding on the back edge of the pediment. All the gilt metalwork is original, and the movement is original to the case. There is no damage to the clock dial. The strike-silent dial has hairline cracks on either side. The movement is dirty and will need a service. It strikes the correct hours and is ticking on the original verge escapement, but the pendulum suspension has snapped, and it is also missing one screw from the brackets.
