AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY MEXICAN NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER incorporating colourful silk thread embroidery, drawn thread work and filet work, incorporating fruits, animals, leaves, and geometric designs, on the ground of fine linen. Worked by Jocefa Hernandes, OAXACA 1810, this location being one of the 32 states that compose the Federative Entities of the United Mexican States, Oaxaca City being the capital, designated by UNESCO in 1987 as a World Heritage Site.
