A RARE MID 19TH CENTURY FRENCH ENGRAVED GILT-BRASS REPEATING CARRIAGE CLOCK the tall shaped case with fine foliate engraving and typical open-work scroll handle enclosing an enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals enclosing a seconds dial above three subsidiary dials for days/alarm/date fronting an eight-day spring driven movement with partially skeletonised plates and original compensated lever escapement striking the hours/half hours on a bell - backplate numbered 4655
