A LARGE LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH OVAL CASED REPEATING GRAND SONNERIE CARRIAGE CLOCK WITH CALENDAR WORK AND ALARM surmounted by a hinged handle and jewelled repeat button above a gilt brass moulded oval case inset with bowed bevelled glass panels enclosing a silvered masked porcelain dial with Roman numerals above three porcelain subsidiary dials for days, date and alarm fronting an eight-day spring-driven repeating movement with alarm striking the hours/half hours and quarter hours on two gongs - with original lever platform escapement - the underside with a strike selection adjusting lever - original Moroccan fitted leather carrying case.
