A GEORGE II PROVINCIAL SILVER CHOCOLATE POT BY JOHN LANGLANDS, NEWCASTLE of tapering baluster form with domed hinged cover and knop finial, wooden scroll handle and leaf-capped swan-neck spout, engraved armorial to the front and raised on a spreading circular foot; hallmarked Newcastle 1748 with John Langlands maker's marks. Total app. weight 920g.

There is a small repair to the bottom rim, visible from underneath, and a small dent on the body. There is also a small split where the handle joins the bottom bracket. Please see the additional images. This is actually a chocolate pot, as the top finial lifts off.
