JOYCE, WHITCHURCH AN IMPRESSIVE 19th CENTURY MAHOGANY WALL MOUNTED REGULATOR the mahogany arched top case with shaped corbels and carved apron, 13” signed silvered engraved brass dial with blued steel hands fronting a massive eight-day movement with four double screwed pillars, high count pinions with 5 spoke wheel work, deadbeat escapement with Harrisons maintaining power and triple fall weight with integral pulley. 69” overall Joyce were famous turret clock makers based in Whitchurch, Shropshire and supplied many of the UK’s churches and public buildings together with many railway companies. They made very few regulators, a similar example to this one is in Worcester Guildhall.
