A RARE 19TH CENTURY KEY WOUND 12 AIRS NICOLE FRERES SWISS CYLINDER MUSIC BOX the rosewood case with marquetry inlaid lid opening to reveal a large 3 1/4" diameter brass pin barrel and steel comb with key wound spring driven movement. The winding arbour and controls accessed from the hinged side of the case, comes with loose parts, the original ratchet winding key and tune sheet, signed on the frame and comb, pin barrel measures 31cm long.

The music box is in need of attention. All the fly wheel is disconnected, some of the pins are bent, one tooth is missing and three tips are broken. The box has signs of restoration around the base.
