HARRY EPWORTH ALLEN BRITISH (1894 - 1958) A 20TH CENTURY WATERCOLOUR VIEW OF SCARBOROUGH HARBOUR depicting the old town rooftops with red-tiled houses looking towards the lighthouse, piers and bay with headland beyond, mounted in a painted and gilt frame. Harry Epworth Allen British (1894-1958), was a painter especially of Derbyshire. Born in Sheffield, Allen attended King Edward VII School for boys, and then became a clerk in the steel works of Arthur Balfour, in his spaere time attending Sheffield Technicals school of Art.
