BARRY, LEIGH. A RARE GEORGE III FIGURED MAHOGANY SPHERICAL MOON LONGCASE CLOCK, having a swan-neck pediment with painted gilt panels above six reeded columns and a glazed arched door, the trunk with reeded quarter-columns and a canted panelled base, the 14" arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring showing annual calendar, Roman hours and Arabic minute track surrounding a scroll-engraved centre with subsidiary moon age dial and the Rise and Set of the Sun, the large arch having a painted country scene centre and rotating spinning moon aperture fronting an eight-day weight-driven movement with various gears driving the dials and moonwork, striking the hours on a bell.
