A WILLIAM AND MARY WALNUT MARQUETRY LONGCASE CLOCK having a caddy-top hood with twin urn finials above a marquetry frieze, long rectangular trunk door and base panel profusely inlaid with floral designs, raised on a plinth base, enclosing a 12" square brass dial with wheatear engraved border, winged cherub head spandrels, silvered Roman chapter ring, matted engraved centre, subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture; fronting an eight day weight driven movement with five finned knopped, and latched pillars and anchor escapement striking the hours on a bell, with brass cased weights and original pendulum. The height to the top of the caddy is 232cm

The vendor purchased the longcase from Northern Clocks. It's been ticking in his house ever since, but may need servicing. The movement is complete and looks original to the case. The case is in very good, undamaged condition, with a good colour and patina. Comes with original weights and pendulum. Also has a door key and winding key. Extra images have been uploaded.
