A RARE OBSERVATORY WALL MOUNTED REGULATOR CLOCK BY AUGUSTE FENON.(1843-1913) A month duration weight-driven regulator featuring Fenon’s sprung deadbeat escapement in a typical French mahogany wall-mounted case with lift-off cover. The extremely fine month duration movement features exceptional and delicate wheel work with round plates that is screwed to a vey robust steel frame with a removable bronzed cover. The separately suspended pendulum is a typical French 9 rod gridiron pendulum with an extremely heavy bob that has a centrally located regulation nut. Fenon supplied most of the French observatories and his regulators are held in extremely high regard among collectors and astronomers alike. This particular regulator, No.26 is from the Bordeaux Observatory. The regulator format dial is signed FENON No.26 and has an arrow around the winding square to indicate anti-clockwise winding.
