AN 18TH CENTURY FIGURED MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK, the figured crossbanded case with swan neck pediment, gilt foliate paterae above an arched glazed door flanked by Corinthian gilt capped reeded columns on a slender trunk with shaped top door and matching reeded quarter columns raised on a canted box base with applied panel and ogee bracket feet. The 12 1/2" arched brass dial with a moulded border and urn spandrels surrounding a silvered chapter ring and matted engraved centre with raised ringed winding holes, calendar aperture and subsidiary seconds dial, the arch having revolving moonphase, fronting an eight-day weight-driven five pillar movement with arched plates and swan neck pendulum crutch, striking the hours on a bell.
