A FINE GIANT GILT ENGRAVED GORGE CASED REPEATING CARRIAGE CLOCK having bevelled glass panels and a carrying handle, enclosing a masked enamel dial with Roman numerals and Arabic minute markers, fronting a spring-driven eight-day movement with original compensated lever escapement striking and repeating on a gong. No. 1656. Presented with its original red morocco leather case and brass key, both numbered.

The clock is in excellent, like-new condition. There is no damage to the gilding, no chips or cracks to the glass panels, and no damage to the dial; the movement is ticking on its original escapement and striking and repeating on the right hours. The original outer is in excellent condition, with gilt numbering on the underside matching the clock, and it comes with its original winding key. This has come from a large private collection of carriage clocks.
