WILLIAM SMITH, LONDON, A VERY RARE GEORGE II WALNUT CASED EQUATION OF TIME LONGCASE CLOCK the arched moulded and fretwork hood on a long burr walnut trunk with canted corners running down into the base enclosing a 12" brass arched dial with silvered engraved Roman and Arabic chapter ring, the matted centre having three apertures for name, regulation and Strike/silent, the arch with centre engraved plaque reading 'This sets ye Day of ye Month. The Equation of Natural Days' with silvered engraved rotating year calendar and equation table above, the outer silvered dial reads ' THE EQUATION OF NATURAL TIME'. The substation complex month duration movement having long shaped plates, six knopped finned pillars and centre seconds striking the hours on a bell - with brass cased weights and brass bob pendulum.
