PETER GARON, LONDON. A FINE EARLY 18TH CENTURY SEAWEED MARQUETRY MONTH GOING LONGCASE CLOCK the 12" square brass dial with cherub spandrels enclosing a Roman chapter ring and matted centre with seconds and date aperture having low positioned ringed winding holes. Fronting a weight-driven month going (possibly longer) five pillar movement with knopped pillars and outside countwheel strike on a bell. The impressive case with caddy top long trunk door, and fitted lenticle. Profusely inlaid with figures amongst scrolling leaf work designs. The pendulum and weights are missing, with original seatboard in untouched condition in need of restoration.
