A 19TH CENTURY OAK METAMORPHIC STOOL / LIBRARY STEPS the rectangular seat with central hand hole above shaped side supports enclosing a folding three-tread mechanism with square stretchers, converting from stool to library steps.

The back left leg has an old break to the top, which has been screwed and repaired. The stool is slightly loose on the joints, but it does function correctly and is usable. No other breaks or damage.
