JOHN KEY, SPILSBY. A RARE PROVINCIAL GEORGE III QUARTER REPEATING BRACKET CLOCK the unusual Walnut case with swan neck pediment above a glazed door flanked by reeded quarter columns, repeated on the reverse, the sides having silk-lined pierced sound frets and herringbone inlay raised on ogee bracket feet. The 7.5" arched brass dial fitted gilt masked spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a polished engraved centre with calendar aperture, Strike/Silent dial to the arch fronting an eight-day double fusee movement with verge escapement striking the hours on a bell and pull quarter repeating on six bells, wheatear engraved border to the backplate.
