A MID 19TH CENTURY PILL POTTERY WELSH REDWARE GLAZED EARTHENWARE FIGURE modelled as a seated cobbler, set to a square base with canted corners - in the manner of H. Davies of the Pill Pottery, Newport.
NOTE: Although it was previously assumed that the Pill Pottery was located at Pill, near Bristol it is now known to have been in the Pillgwenlly district of Newport, Monmouthshire.
