FRANCISCA OLIVERA (1866) A MID 19TH CENTURY MEXICAN NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER finished on the 9th of January 1866, a fine Mexican needlework sampler incorporating colourful silk embroidery, drawn thread work, with geometric and floral designs on fine linen, a note in pencil on the back explaining that it was purchased by Violet Boyd, who on leaving Mexico in early 1940, passed it to the next owner, who subsequently sold it to the current vendor via Phillips Auctioneers.
