A MID 17TH CENTURY BRASS VERGE LANTERN CLOCK the brass case with strapped bell and turned finial, pierced foliate frets and corner finials, on ball feet; enclosing a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and half-hour markers, an engraved centre with alarm setting disc and single iron hand; fronting a weight-driven two train movement striking the hours on the bell, the front fret bearing the date 1661.
