THOMAS LAW, LONDON. A MID 18TH CENTURY CHINOISERIE DECORATED BLACK LACQUER EIGH-DAY AUTOMATON LONGCASE CLOCK the 12" arched brass dial with wheatear border and maskhead spandrels, silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and outer minute markers surrounding a matted centre with engraved date aperture and seconds dial, signed silvered arch with rocking automaton old father time inscribed 'Memen to Mort' fronting an eight-day movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on a bell. The caddy-top case decorated with figural landscape scenes to the long arched-top door with plinth base.
