A RARE 19TH CENTURY SILVER CHILD HANDLED CANE WITH AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY SILVER SPHINX CANE the silver child handled cane is very finely cast as a boy with a fold brim cap and neck ruff with seashell and plinth motifs HM London 1850 stamped with the profile of Queen Victoria and maker's mark "HL.HL" on a polished hardwood shaft with dark horn ferrule. The evening cane has a silver crook handle very finely detailed as a Greek Sphinx with head and breast of a woman, eagle wings and a lion's paws with jewelled arm, neck and hairpieces, on an ebonised hardwood shaft with a horn ferrule.
